HYPOXYLON FUSCUM

Espèce: Hypoxylon fuscum (Pers.) Fr.

Synonymes: Peripherostoma fusca (Pers.) Gray, A natural arrangement of British plants 1: 513 (1821) - Stromatosphaeria fusca (Pers.) Grev., Flora Edinensis: 356 (1824) - Peripherostoma fuscum (Pers.) Noms communs: Hypoxylon brun rouge.

Fructification: 0,2-0,5 cm, globuleux ou allongé, brun-rouge fonçant de plus en plus avec l'âge; surface verruqueuse.

Chair: coriace, blanchâtre, avec des cavités fertiles noires.

Spores: jaune orangé en masse, (9,5)11-16 x (4)5-8 µm, 11,4 x 5,2 µ.

Habitat: sur branches et rameaux tombés, surtout sur noisetiers et aulnes, en automne et en hiver.

Observations: non commestible.
